Crowdfunding meets Shariah finance. Scale follows.

Saudi platform Lendo | ليندو lets investors finance small-business invoices through a shariah-compliant crowdfunding marketplace. The company earns a spread between investor returns and borrower fees.

In September, it struck a $53.3 million cost-plus financing deal with Jadwa Investment through its Murabaha Finance Fund to increase capacity.

Since 2019, Lendo has funded over 3,000 invoices and facilitated more than SAR 1.5 billion ($400M or €341M) in financing for SMEs.

Founders Osama AlRaee and Mohamed Jawabri plan to use the new capital to expand across Saudi Arabia and offer more products to underbanked businesses. When crowdfunding meets Islamic finance, scale matters.
