Life insurance quoting in minutes instead of weeks.

New York insurtech Modern Life closed a $20M Series A led by Thrive Capital, with New York Life Ventures, Northwestern Mutual, and Allegis Group also participating, bringing total funding to $35M.

The company's platform allows advisors to pull quotes from 30+ carriers in real time, digitally underwrite and deliver policies across all 50 states, cutting costs by up to 20%.

Revenue comes from carrier commissions and a subscription for enhanced analytics. The moat lies in proprietary data ingestion and AI‑driven underwriting.

CEO Michael Konialian and co‑founder Dan Pierson (ex‑Oscar Health and Ladder) have built a team of underwriters and engineers to tame life insurance's complexity.

With fresh funding, Modern Life plans to deepen AI models, broaden carrier partnerships, and simplify compliance for advisors.
