SendOva – Payments platform for diaspora communities

SendOva is a London‑based payments startup created by diaspora entrepreneurs to make sending money home transparent and instant.

Their mobile and web app offers instant transfers, transparent FX rates, zero hidden charges, and 24/7 local support for both senders and recipients.

Co‑founders Olufemi Anthony Olaogun (CEO) and Ikpi Eteng (Head of Operations) built the platform after personal frustration with remittance apps.

The business model is a small transaction fee and FX margin, with future plans to launch SME tools for payroll, vendor payments, and marketplace settlements.

SendOva recently launched on the UK→Nigeria corridor and plans to expand across Africa, tackling a market where fees can exceed 10% and transfers take days. With remittances to Nigeria topping $20 billion a year, the addressable market is huge. How long will banks keep charging hidden fees on our hard‑earned money?
